Kent Grand Organ

The original 1878 Hutchings, Plaisted, & Co. organ that is undergoing renovation had 3300 pipes, most of which are being restored to form part of the Kent Grand Organ. The restored and renovated historic Kent Grand Organ will consist of 70 ranks and 4,264 pipes, a principal console as well as a gallery console with electronic enhancements and will be a unique symphonic organ in the Pacific Northwest. The symphonic organ is a style of pipe organ that uses expansions in the number and nature of pipes to facilitate the expressive performance of classical orchestral works re-scored for organ as well as traditional and modern organ pieces.
